The shades on this job
- 5% tint (limo tint)
- The darkest shade most shops carry. Only about 5% of visible light gets through, so from outside the glass reads black and you cannot see in during the day.
- 20% tint (factory match)
- Close to the privacy glass a lot of trucks and SUVs come with, which is why it gets used so often to match front doors to the back.
In Arizona the back side windows and rear glass can be any shade. Front side windows have to let more than 33% of light through.
Reading the notes
- Sun strip
- Also called a visor strip or brow: a band of film across the top of the windshield that blocks the low sun a visor misses.
- Rear half
- Every window behind the front doors, plus the back glass. On a pickup that is the rear doors and the rear window.
- Layered film
- One film installed over another to go darker than a single layer can.
- Ceramic
- Ceramic film rejects infrared heat and blocks 99% of UV at any darkness, even nearly clear.
